The new and huger Paramount has a new co-CEO

Paramount is appointing a new co-CEO ahead of the close of its $110 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. Ynon Kreiz, previously Mattel's chairman and CEO, will be joining Paramount to lead alongside chairman and CEO David Ellison.

According to Paramount, "Ellison will focus on the company's long-term strategy, creative vision and direction, including its talent relationships, strategic partnerships, technology and capital allocation. Kreiz will focus on the company's day-to-day management and integration of the combined businesses." The combined Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery will "report jointly" to Ellison and Kreiz.

Gemini app finally expands to audio files

Google made three major updates to its Gemini-powered products on Monday: The Gemini app now accepts audio files; Search can handle five new languages; and NotebookLM creates reports in the form of blog posts, study guides, quizzes, and more.  According to a Monday post on X by Josh Woodward, vice president of Google Labs and Gemini, audio file compatibility was the “#1 request” to the Gemini app.  Free Gemini users max out at 10 minutes of audio, and five free prompts each day. AI Pro or AI Ultra users, meanwhile, can upload audio up to three hours in length. Earlier today, French publisher, Nacon held their online digital event, Nacon Connect, to give an insight into their upcoming titles and hardware that they were working on. Unlike other gaming events up until now, this one was a standalone event. Meaning, it was not part of the Summer Game Fest.
