Pokémon Sword and Shield are coming to the Switch this year

During its latest Nintendo Direct livestream this morning, Nintendo finally provided some details about its much-anticipated next Pokémon game for the Switch. Called Pokémon: Sword and Shield, the new mainline games are due to launch this year. The new games feature a more detailed 3D art style compared to the Let’s Go games, and include a wide variety of locales in a new region called Galar. Naturally, it will also introduce new monsters, including a frankly adorable trio of starters.

Nintendo first announced that a traditional Pokémon role-playing game would be coming to the Switch back at E3 2017. And, despite reassurances last year that the “core” game was still slated for 2019, we hadn’t heard any real details about the new game....

Amazon is acquiring a podcast hosting and monetization platform

Amazon Music Amazon Music is getting more serious about its podcast endeavors. Today, the company announced that it’s acquiring Art19, a major podcast hosting and monetization platform for an undisclosed sum. This means Amazon will now have a hand in hosting podcasters’ shows as well as selling ads against them because Art19 operates an ad marketplace that targets and inserts ads into programming. We’ve reached out to Amazon Music to learn more about what this acquisition might mean for podcasters who host on the service and will update if we hear back.
